Job Summary
Lead, train, and supervise HVAC technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors on commercial job sites while assigning daily tasks and managing crew productivity. Interpret blueprints and specifications to coordinate installation of RTUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, ductwork, and controls, ensuring work meets project plans and local mechanical codes. Enforce OSHA standards through daily hazard analyses and toolbox talks, and plan manpower needs to track labor hours and report progress to the Project Manager. Coordinate material delivery, verify specifications, and inspect completed work for quality. This full-time role requires OSHA 10 certification, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience including leadership or foreman responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, installation methods, and local Kansas City area mechanical codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical specifications
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on active commercial job sites
- Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods throughout the shift
Desired Qualifications
- Journeyman HVAC license in Kansas or Missouri
- Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial HVAC projects
- Controls, testing and balancing, or commissioning experience
- OSHA 30 certification
