Job Summary
Lead a year-round commercial grounds maintenance crew by supervising staff, planning daily workloads, and coordinating equipment and job materials. Execute field operations including mowing, raking, digging, weeding, and operating zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, and sprayers while monitoring irrigation controllers. Manage logistics by loading and unloading heavy equipment and safely driving company vehicles to transport crew members. Prepare daily reports, maintain professional client relations with contractors and subcontractors, and attend safety meetings. Requires a valid NC driver's license, willingness to obtain a pesticide license, and ability to lift 50 pounds in all weather conditions. Required Qualifications
- Valid NC Driver's license
- Good driving record
- CDL (preferred)
- Willingness to obtain the NC Pesticide Applicator's License
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
- Ability to bend and stoop continually
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Comfort working around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks
- Good communication skills
- Ability to motivate others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Professional manner
- Strict adherence to safety protocols regarding chemicals, equipment, and PPE (eye/ear protection)
