Commercial Finance Analyst

Job Summary
Monitor performance against volume, revenue, profit, and rate-per-tonne targets while supporting customer business plans through insightful analysis and reporting. Provide regular commercial reporting on sales, promotional revenue, pricing, and trade spend, collaborating with sales teams to ensure accurate accruals and manage variances. Review promotional plans for alignment with brand objectives, supporting forecasting, pricing reviews, and profitability analysis while maintaining data accuracy across systems. Act as a trusted finance partner to Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams, providing challenge and recommendations to influence cross-functional delivery of volume, revenue, and gross profit targets. Support monthly forecasting, risk reviews, and S&OP processes to drive continuous improvement in commercial finance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience within a Commercial Finance, Sales Finance or Financial Planning role
- Experience partnering with Sales teams within an FMCG / CPG environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful recommendations
- Confident communicator who can build credibility with a range of stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical capability
- Highly organised with excellent planning and prioritisation skills
- Ability to challenge constructively and influence business decisions
- Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
- Unrestricted UK right to work
- Minimum 3 days per week in the office
Desired Qualifications
- SAP experience
- Trade accrual or trade promotion management systems
- XTEL knowledge
- Promotional planning experience within FMCG/CPG
