Job Summary
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for exterior cladding and façade systems by reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing while developing scope clarifications, exclusions, and value engineering options. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and general contractors during the preconstruction process to manage multiple bids in a deadline-driven environment. Maintain cost databases, unit pricing, and historical data to support project handoff to operations upon award. This role works closely with internal teams to shape competitive bids for high-profile commercial projects across Charleston, Charlotte, and Savannah.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in exterior cladding, façade systems, or related trades
- Strong understanding of building envelope systems (air/water barriers, waterproofing, insulation)
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel and estimating/takeoff software
- Effective communication and coordination abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to curtain wall, storefront, or composite panel systems
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
