Job Summary
Prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial hydronics projects by analyzing drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and compiling data into bid proposals. Identify qualified suppliers, solicit quotes, and negotiate pricing terms while maintaining vendor files for backup. Communicate with customers to understand requirements and provide timely estimates, addressing inquiries regarding cost data. Collaborate with the Inside Sales team to align estimates with project goals and assist in developing strategies to improve estimating efficiency. Update pricing databases regularly and generate reports for management monitoring actual costs against preliminary figures.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years experience with commercial hydronic products
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or plumbing industry
- Familiarity with estimating practices and procedures
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Understanding of plumbing and finish materials and their applications
- Strong computer skills, with experience in construction-related software
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- 2 years of office administration experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks efficiently
- Strong focus on accuracy in data entry and document management
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Willingness to work closely with team members and other departments
