Job Summary
Collect waste and recyclables from residential neighborhoods using a commercial front-end loader truck, transporting contents to processing facilities. Operate vehicle controls for lifting and loading while performing pre- and post-trip inspections to maintain equipment safety. Log and report information to dispatch, communicate regarding delays or breakdowns, and address container-related issues. Ensure all personal protective equipment is worn and follow applicable traffic laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time
- Must be able to sit in truck cab for extended periods of time
- Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time as you assist the helper assigned to the truck
- Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time as you assist the helper assigned to the truck
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years with a clean driving record (preferred)
- A CDL driver with waste management industry is a plus
- Knowledge of local geography and road networks, although not required
- An understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to operate a waste collection vehicle and its controls
- Good communication
- Great customer service skills
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and operating equipment
- Perform in all weather conditions to meet / exceed customer expectations
- Able to sit in truck cab for extended periods of time. You must get out and help the helper when needed
