Job Summary
Under general supervision, the CDL Examiner administers and evaluates Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) skills tests. Responsibilities include conducting pre-trip inspections, basic control skills tests, and road tests while adhering to federal and state DOT regulations. The role requires maintaining secure records, collaborating on scheduling and reporting, and ensuring compliance with anti-discrimination laws. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, integrity in testing, and knowledge of FMCSA regulations. A valid Commercial Driver's License and Third-Party Tester Certificate are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid and current Third-Party Tester Certificate issued by the State of Florida for the type(s) of CDL Skills Tests being conducted
- Must have and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License
- Five (5) Years CDL experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed procedures and regulations precisely
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity and a commitment to fair and impartial testing
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn the Department's PWS and CSTIMS systems
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA and state CDL testing regulations
