Job Summary
Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair hollow metal storefront, sectional overhead, rolling steel, and fire-rated doors along with associated hardware including closers, panic devices, and weather stripping. Diagnose mechanical and operational issues, recommend repairs, and install electric operators and access control systems. Perform preventive maintenance inspections, read blueprints, and ensure compliance with building and fire codes. Safely operate vehicles, lifts, and power tools while maintaining inventory and accurate documentation. Participate in on-call rotations for emergency service.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of commercial door installation and service experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of commercial door systems
- Strong knowledge of door hardware
- Strong knowledge of automatic door operators
- Strong knowledge of rolling steel and overhead doors
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical door issues
- Experience installing and adjusting commercial hardware to manufacturer specifications
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and at varying heights
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if required
