Job Summary
The Commercial Documentation Officer oversees the commercial loan documentation process, ensuring adherence to Loan Policy, reviewing supporting documents (UCC searches, flood zone determinations, title commitments, appraisals, leases, rent rolls, environmental audits, etc.), and coordinating with outside counsel. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing loan documents, facilitating closings, setting up file monitoring, and ensuring proper recording of collateral. The role includes supervising the documentation staff, maintaining compliance with BSA, HMDA, CRA and other regulations, and participating in disaster recovery initiatives. Requires experience with commercial real estate loan documentation, management experience, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification; preferred paralegal background.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or certification in Business Law, Business Finance or Commercial Real Estate Lending
- Paralegal preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with commercial real estate loan documentation, construction loan documentation, and commercial loan documentation
- Prior management experience required
- Working knowledge of bank operations, regulatory guidelines
- Self-motivated and willingness to implement changes to improve bank performance
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Team-oriented
- Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks under time constraints
- Good customer service skills
- Demonstrates an ability to handle difficult and sensitive business situations
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
