Commercial Director, Power Infrastructure (BESS & Data Centers) - Remote

RemoteUnited States or Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Full TimeSenior LevelBachelors Degree

Job Summary

Build and run your own pipeline into BESS integrators, developers, EPCs, and data center operators, leading technically complex sales cycles from first outreach through contract close. Engage credibly with customer engineering teams on system sizing, grid interconnection, power quality, and bi-directional behavior to negotiate commercial terms on large-scale infrastructure deals. Design and stand up the commercial process, pipeline reporting, and sales tooling needed to scale beyond a single contributor while defining the go-to-market approach for these verticals. Represent the commercial voice back into product and engineering with pricing feedback and competitive intelligence, and develop deep relationships with key accounts across the power ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development within the power infrastructure or energy sector
  • Prior hands-on experience in an engineering capacity - design, applications, or field engineering - in power electronics, grid-tied inverters, energy storage, or related electrical infrastructure
  • Technical fluency at the level of an engineering peer: able to discuss efficiency, THDi, power factor correction, grid interconnection requirements, earthing topologies, and bi-directional/grid-forming behavior unscripted, and to respond credibly when a customer's technical team raises an objection
  • A demonstrated track record of originating and closing large, technically complex infrastructure or capital equipment deals, rather than managing inbound leads or renewing existing accounts
  • Direct experience selling into BESS and/or data center power infrastructure markets - including experience working with EPCs, system integrators, and/or utility project developers - with an existing network of relevant relationships - ideally including engineering and technical decision-makers rather than procurement-only contracts
  • A self-starter mentality - comfortable building process and pipeline with limited existing infrastructure in place
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills on large-value, multi-stakeholder infrastructure contracts
  • A career path that blends engineering and commercial experience - e.g. time in design, applications, or systems engineering alongside sales engineering, business development, or commercial leadership roles

Desired Qualifications

  • Exposure to thermal management systems, particularly liquid cooling of power electronics
