Job Summary
Review commercial credit applications for approval of charge terms using credit report data and perform regular reconciliation of customer accounts to ensure accuracy of payment application. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts requiring outreach, then contact customers regarding missed or late payments. Collaborate with customers, third-party A/P providers, and collection agencies to streamline billing processes and pursue outstanding debt, including managing accounts through the bankruptcy process. Assist in customer dispute resolution and create reporting on commercial portfolio performance for senior management. Serve as a back-up for the Sr. Credit Manager in this non-supervisory role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years progressive experience in commercial credit, accounts receivable and/or collections roles
- Strong understanding of credit principles and analysis
- Knowledge of business bankruptcy laws and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate or better Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer focused approach to problem resolution
- Good judgment and the ability to make sound decisions
- Advance skill level with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook functions
