Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions in India, including enterprise customer contracts. Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives. Monitor and interpret evolving region-specific legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks, and apply this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment. Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices. Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams, tailoring advice to enable responsible growth and innovation. Contribute to scaling the Legal Team's commercial function, fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture. This role is remote, based in Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, or Hyderabad, and requires a law degree with 7+ years of post-qualification experience.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree and qualification to practice law in India
- 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property
- Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
- Have worked for a US Based or Global multinational out of India
- Have direct experience working with customers both in and outside the region
- Experienced in navigating fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Ability to manage ambiguity and make informed, timely decisions
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and global colleagues
