Job Summary

Serve as the primary legal contact for BBIO and CALID US sales organizations, providing practical advice on customer transactions and accelerating quote-to-cash cycles. Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including master supply, distribution, and software licensing contracts, while advising on UCC Article 2 and 9 issues. Partner with sales, finance, and operations teams on discount approvals and revenue-recognition-sensitive terms, and manage customer disputes and pre-litigation matters. Review and update standard commercial templates to align with evolving business needs and support corporate compliance, trade compliance, and data privacy initiatives. Assist with mergers and acquisitions related to the commercial portfolio as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Law degree (JD) from an accredited US law school
  • Active license to practice law, and in good standing, in Massachusetts; or, if licensed in another state, able to qualify as a registered in-house lawyer with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers
  • 5–8 years of applicable law firm and in-house legal experience supporting sales teams and commercial contracting functions (preferably at a multinational scientific instrument, life sciences, medical device, or similar technology company)
  • working knowledge with respect to UCC Article 2 (sale of goods) and Article 9 (secured transactions), including drafting and negotiating warranty, limitation of liability, and title/risk-of-loss provisions, and structuring and perfecting security interests
  • working knowledge of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), its interaction with UCC Article 2 in cross-border sales, and related choice-of-law and forum-selection provisions
  • experience supporting international commercial transactions, including familiarity with Incoterms, cross-border sales structures, export controls, and the interaction between US and non-US contracting practices
  • Able to work independently, take ownership of projects, and be accountable for results
  • Strong analytical ability together with reliably sound business judgment and a balanced and practical approach to risk mitigation and troubleshooting
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to explain, clearly and accurately, complex legal issues to a non-legal audience
  • A collaborator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to foster relationships and work effectively with individuals at all levels and from the many cultures and geographies where Bruker operates
  • Highly adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges, change, and shifting priorities
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and participate actively
  • Able to maintain a sense of urgency to achieve business goals
  • Teachable, open to feedback, and a good listener
  • Committed in all cases to the highest professional and ethical standards
  • US citizenship or US permanent resident status required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with data privacy is a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP (or a comparable CRM/CPQ platform) and contract lifecycle management tools is a plus
