Job Summary

Commercial & Contract Lead to join HKA’s Advisory team in Sydney or Brisbane. Lead the delivery of complex commercial and contract management engagements across major infrastructure programs, providing strategic guidance, overseeing negotiations and administration, and ensuring governance alignment. Build and mentor a high-performing team, shape and deliver portfolios and projects, drive business development, and expand the integrated Commercial & Contracts offering across energy, water, transport and infrastructure sectors. Leverage industry networks to influence outcomes, develop differentiated go-to-market propositions, and collaborate across service lines to deliver high-value client solutions. Flexible remote working is offered, with hybrid arrangements in the stated Australian offices.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial and contract management, with strong post-contract delivery expertise
  • Experience supporting front-end tendering and early project phases is highly desirable
  • Background within professional services, Tier 1 contractors, or major infrastructure/project environments
  • Experience across utilities, transport, energy, or renewable energy sectors
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive pragmatic, outcome-focused solutions
  • Solid understanding of contract law, contract administration, and standard contract frameworks (e.g. NEC experience advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams, with the ability to mentor and guide junior professionals
  • Proven capability in business development and client origination, including contributing to pipeline development, supporting proposal efforts, and winning work
  • Established industry network and client relationships, with the ability to leverage these to support growth objectives
  • Experience working within integrated, multidisciplinary environments, collaborating across multidisciplinary services to deliver end-to-end client value
  • Demonstrated expertise in claims management, including preparation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution of claims
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience collaborating with cost management and forecasting teams to support both strategic and operational outcomes
