Job Summary
Seasoned commercial construction Superintendent responsible for on-site admin and technical management across multi-discipline projects in Culpeper, VA. Leads organization and direction of construction activities, ensures compliance with design/specifications, schedules, and budgets, and serves as primary client contact for jobsite operations. Requires strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specs, manage multiple subcontractors, mentor field staff, coordinate with project management, and uphold OSHA safety standards. Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and demonstrated experience updating master schedules, managing permits, and enforcing company policies. Willingness to work on a non-hybrid, in-person role with potential relocation assistance. Priority is delivering quality, on-time project delivery for large-scale commercial developments.
Required Qualifications
- BS Engineering, Construction Management or related curriculum with 8 years of experience in commercial construction OR AS with 10 years of relevant experience OR HSD/GED with 12 years of relevant experience OR demonstrated equivalency of education and experience
- 8 years of progressive commercial construction experience with 5 years as a Superintendent on large-scale project (preferred)
- MEP/datacenter experience preferred
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors on large, complex construction sites
- Experience with daily construction means, methods and sequencing
- Strong understanding of project scheduling and productivity tracking
- Experience supervising and mentoring Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and field staff
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and schedules
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam)
- Excellent planning/communication/writing/priority management skills
- Ability to lead day-to-day jobsite operations, including management of subcontractors and vendors
- Experience updating master project schedule and ensuring timely completion by all subcontractors and vendors
- Experience in jobsite safety; enforcement of OSHA policies & standards
- Experience with jobsite documentation (daily reports, incident/injury reports, progress logs, etc.)
- Ability to enforce and communicate company policies and procedures
- Experience in managing/tracking permitting with expeditors, AHJs and local community
- OSHA certifications or ability to obtain (10 & 30hr)
