Job Summary
Load, lift, and move supplies, furniture, and equipment; dig trenches and perform manual grading; collect rubbish; load and unload trucks; shovel; mix cement and mortar; place and strip concrete forms; perform cold patching; sweep; pry and hammer wall and roof sections; sort, pile, and clean salvageable materials; and drive trucks as required. Perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods while following safety practices and supervisory direction. May travel and be away from home for several days at a time. Requires a valid driver's license. This full-time, first-shift role reports to a Superintendent at a multi-faceted general contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and medical facility construction.
Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to perform manual tasks either alone or as a member of a group
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods of the time
- Ability to follow prescribed procedures
- insuring safety practices are followed on job sites
- Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 pounds
- Physical ability to climb and work from ladders
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, work around moving machinery
- Physical ability to work around wood dust and fumes
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
- Ability to travel and be away from home for several days at a time
