Job Summary
Respond to customer inquiries, initiate investigations, and resolve commercial transportation property damage claims by gathering necessary information and explaining policy coverage. Manage an inventory of claims, establish initial reserves, and coordinate vehicle repairs and rental reimbursements while negotiating settlements with claimants, insureds, and attorneys. Recognize recovery opportunities for subrogation and salvage, ensure compliance with state regulations, and provide input for claims guidelines and process improvements. Oversee outside investigative service providers and engage in continuous learning regarding court decisions and policy changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience on commercial transportation claims, dealing with Third-Party PD/Total Loss
- Active adjuster license required: resident state license if available, otherwise a Designated Home State (DHS) license
- You're willing to obtain all licenses within 60 days, including completing any state required testing
- Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
- Commercial experience necessary
- Ability to analyze and evaluate claims data and make sound decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures
