Job Summary

Execute demolition, framing, millwork, FRP, and laminate installation on commercial remodeling projects while supporting layout, measurements, and material planning under the Lead Carpenter. Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely in active retail environments, minimizing disruption to store operations. Read construction drawings and specifications to complete assigned work with increasing independence, maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety policies. Coordinate activities with other trades, communicate project progress to field leadership, and participate in daily safety meetings. Maintain a clean, organized job site while demonstrating professionalism with management, associates, vendors, and customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of hands-on experience in commercial, retail, or big-box construction environments
  • Experience performing demolition, framing, finish carpentry, millwork installation, FRP installation, laminate installation, and related carpentry tasks
  • Proven experience working on active construction sites with multiple trades and fast-paced project schedules
  • Experience working in occupied retail environments, store remodels, or tenant improvement projects
  • Experience working on Walmart remodels, store refreshes, retail rollouts, or similar big-box retail construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layouts
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe construction practices
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work for extended periods on active construction sites
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and operate elevated work platforms as required
  • Capable of working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience mentoring junior carpenters and supporting crew development
  • Forklift, aerial lift, or scissor lift certifications
