Job Summary
The Commercial Banker role focuses on developing and managing a portfolio of commercial loan accounts (secured and unsecured), underwriting loan terms within policy limits, and growing new business through referrals and direct outreach. Responsibilities include assessing customer needs for loans or lines of credit, evaluating risk and creditworthiness, maintaining portfolio quality and collections when necessary, cross-selling bank products to deepen banking relationships, staying informed on regulatory requirements, and contributing to community and bank-wide goals. Strong emphasis on relationship-building, financial analysis, and effective communication to provide value to customers and the bank.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent/ Associate or Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar
- 1-3 years of financial industry experience / 2-5 years Commercial Banking experience
- PC, phone system, general office equipment
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, specifically, the ability to effectively write a variety of correspondence and reports and to explain complex policies and procedures
