Job Summary
Commercial Banker in Mid-Corporate Banking focuses on acquiring and growing a portfolio of mid-corporate clients (typically companies with substantial revenue) by delivering comprehensive financial solutions. The role interfaces with the Mid-Cap Investment Banking Team and financial sponsors, cultivate relationships with CEOs and CFOs, and aims to expand profitable relationships in the target market while leveraging industry knowledge, disciplined market activities, and collaboration with internal partners. The position requires knowledge of commercial banking products, strong transaction execution, and licenses (or ability to obtain) within a defined period, with a strong emphasis on client acquisition, relationship management, and achieving sales goals.
Required Qualifications
- Five plus years of lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships
- Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
- Methodical approach to market activities and prospecting, demonstrate proven client relationship skills, and can engage with CEOs and CFOs
- Ability to collaborate with internal partners and resources
- Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners
- Deep local connections and market knowledge
- Corporate finance expertise and strong transaction execution skills
- FINRA Series 79, 63 and Securities Industry Essentials licenses required or must obtain within 180 days of hire
- Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training
- Sales management, business development skills, proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
- Experience with Financial Sponsors, Direct Lending and Capital Markets Solutions.
- Strong creative solution, problem solving abilities, flexible to changing business priorities and ability to multitask
- Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, self-directed, proactive and creative
