Job Summary
Originate, underwrite, and close secured and unsecured commercial loans in accordance with established policies and procedures. Establish and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to profitably grow loans, deposits, and fees. Gather, compile, and oversee all information for loan applications, including appraisals, credit reports, and background checks. Correspond with applicants to resolve questions, negotiate deal terms, and facilitate loan committee presentations for approvals exceeding individual authority. Develop new business by cross-selling deposit and fee products while actively participating in community activities to support business development.
Required Qualifications
- experience as a lender
- ability to originate, underwrite and close secured and unsecured commercial loans
- knowledge of established lending objectives, policies and procedures
- ability to establish, maintain and maximize relationships with existing and potential customers
- ability to profitably grow loans, deposits and fees
- ability to ensure credit quality guidelines are met/monitored
- ability to gather and oversee compilation of all needed information for loan application
- ability to request appraisals, applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan application
- ability to correspond with or interview applicant or creditors to resolve questions and negotiate deal
- ability to develop new business
- ability to cross sell key deposit/fee income products/services
- ability to facilitate negotiation with customer
- ability to refer and/or present loan to loan committee for approval
- ability to ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy
- ability to assure timely loan closing and funding activities
- ability to maintain updated loan documentation and loan files
- willingness to be actively involved in community activities that promote Bank and/or assist with business development
