Commercial Auto/GL Claims Specialist

Job Summary
Commercial GL & Auto Claims Specialist role handling high-complexity/severity claims (including litigated files) for commercial accounts. Collaborates with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders; investigates losses, identifies coverage, evaluates liability and damages, reviews documents and pleadings, and works with counsel on litigated claims. Develops action plans to proactively conclude claims, negotiates settlements within guidelines, maintains proper reserves, engages external resources as needed, and communicates coverage issues to clients. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), 6 years of relevant claims experience, knowledge of contractual indemnification and additional insured issues, and preferred AIC/SCLA certification; licenses as required by state. Demonstrates strong analytical, verbal and written communication, and relationship-building skills; able to travel and operate in hybrid/remote work arrangements with some office presence three days/week for nearby office locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 6 years of experience in handling general liability and/or bodily injury claims of high complexity/severity
- Experience with contractual indemnification and additional insured coverages
- AIC or SCLA certification preferred
- Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Travel up to 10% overnight and travel between locations as needed
