Job Summary
Commercial and Industrial Sales Representative to grow the existing customer base in the Midwest, prospect local businesses and new construction projects, follow up on incoming sales leads, research new building projects, and bid on projects. Build and maintain professional relationships with engineers, contractors, construction managers, business owners and operators; provide ongoing support and handle service issues. Works with a team of experienced commercial sales professionals, project managers, and service technicians to deliver water-solution outcomes for hospitals, manufacturers, dialysis clinics, surgery centers, and other facilities, with travel to customer locations required. Role designed to grow into larger project management, commercial operations, or commercial sales positions as the division expands; emphasizes consultative selling, relationship building, and meeting sales targets through generated monthly sales.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior sales experience in an industrial or business-to-business situation and Business-to-Business cold-calling experience is required
- Must be able to travel to customer locations regularly
- Familiarity with water treatment is preferred but not required
- Must be a self-starter with initiative, intuitive, and familiar with consultative selling skills
- Computer skills in most Microsoft Office applications are required
- Able to produce generated sales each month and be well-organized
- A strong work ethic, the ability to work independently or as a team, and a burning desire to succeed
- Strong business knowledge, professional presentation skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities
