Job Summary
Commercial Analyst based in Houston supporting GLights front-office trading and origination. Responsibilities include daily deal management, accurate deal capture and pricing exposure, end-of-day activity recaps, supporting counterparty transactions (pre-deal checks, credit capacity, master agreements), remediation of trade confirmations and disputes, and providing timely responses to internal stakeholders (Risk, Settlements, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Contracts, Confirmations). The role requires strong Excel skills, knowledge of commercial terms, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and effective communication. Candidate will engage with traders, origination and marketing teams, and leverage digital tools (AI modeling, Excel programming) to enhance desk profitability and process efficiency. Desired experience includes familiarity with NGLs, Petrochemicals, Right Angle ETRM, and NAESB contracts; travel is negligible and relocation may be negotiable. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with potential relocation support and a pathway to broader commercial roles within bp's trading and shipping organization.
Required Qualifications

- Experience with pricing, exposure measurement, and deal management processes
- Experience with risk management and settlements in energy commodities
- Familiarity with NAESB contracts and New Client setup processes
- Experience applying AI and technical development applications in business issues (preferred)
- Knowledge of NGLs, Petrochemicals or related energy commodities (preferred)
- Negotiation skills
- Documentation and organizational skills
- Software/tools: Excel, ETRM systems (Right Angle or similar)
- Understanding of end-to-end trading desk operations
- Ability to interpret deals and portfolio strategies
