Job Summary
High School Special Education Life Skills Teacher responsible for delivering instruction in assigned classes, planning programs to meet individual student needs, creating a conducive learning environment, aligning with district curriculum goals, preparing and documenting lesson plans, employing varied instructional techniques, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with paraprofessionals, and participating in district/building meetings and professional growth activities to support equity and excellence in Springfield Public Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Highly qualified with required competency in the content area;
- Appropriate content/ program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (5-12) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;
- Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license;
- Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years
