Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance and direct support to students in Springfield Public Schools. Responsibilities include supporting instruction for individuals and small groups, preparing instructional materials, managing classroom behavior, and supervising students on field trips. Work across settings including life skills, SEBS, LINKS (Autism), language learning delays, and mobility/orientation programs, with duties expanding as needed to promote student success. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to collaborate with teachers and district staff are essential. The role participates in professional development and district pipelines to grow through college credit or certification pathways.
Required Qualifications
- A high-school diploma or GED
- Sixty (60) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associates Degree, or a passing score on one of the Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro or WorkKeys
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Public speaking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
