Job Summary
Intern will join the Commissioning team to gain hands-on experience in both office and field settings. Responsibilities include assisting the engineering team with ongoing projects, conducting research and analysis, supporting testing and quality assurance of MEP systems, maintaining accurate project documentation, generating reports and meeting minutes, and assisting commissioning agents with onsite functional performance testing. The program emphasizes real-world exposure through site visits, training opportunities, cross-functional collaboration, and participation in company events. Requirements include enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program, CAD/BIM familiarity, and strong Excel/Microsoft skills. The internship runs 10-12 weeks in the summer (June–August) with an in-office schedule Monday–Friday at the Long Beach, CA location, and compensation of $24/hour for undergraduate interns and $26/hour for graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related studies
- FE/EIT is a plus
- Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards
- Familiarity with HVAC system design and Building Commissioning is a plus
- Involvement in ASHRAE is a plus
- Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Products
- Must have a valid Drivers License and mode of transportation
