Job Summary
Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding for manufacturing and industrial projects in the Southeast. Lay out, position, and align components, then bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding. Set up equipment to weld using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding methods. Assemble parts by bolting and riveting, and repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling using cutting torches, presses, and hand tools. Perform safety inspections of work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with government regulations and SIC policies. Complete all required safety and job training while observing client safety processes at all times. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
Required Qualifications
- Certification at one or more levels
- Regular attendance
- Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
- Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
- Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
