Job Summary
Operate a tractor/trailer to transport freight in compliance with FMCSA and company policies, adhering to run times and safety regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain required records, and ensure safe/proper handling of hazardous materials. Use in-cab technology and electronic logs as required, and may perform dock work including loading/unloading freight. Must be able to drive in diverse terrains and weather, meet physical demands (lifting ~70 lbs), pass medical and road tests, and comply with all safety, regulatory, and company standards. Requires strong safety mindset, ability to work independently or in a team, and valid license with appropriate endorsements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Doubles endorsement
- Must reside within 75 miles of the domicile/work assignment
- Able to operate a tractor-trailer per FMCSA requirements
- Pass FMCSA medical exam
- Pass road test
- Must be able to read and understand English
- Must lift at least 70 lbs
- Able to drive all routes and terrains including mountains, desert, and inclement weather
- Able to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment (manual/automatic transmission, etc.)
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
