Job Summary
Combination Welder responsible for safety as a core priority while using oxyacetylene, electric welding and heat fusion to join materials for high- and low-pressure vessels, meters, regulator stations, pipelines, or piping systems. Tasks include layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, preparing material for joining, and performing maintenance/repair of distribution piping and equipment. Must read construction drawings, be aware of hazards from gas vapors, complete required welding and fusion training, hold/obtain a CDL, and succeed in qualification tests. Regular full-time with comprehensive benefits offered.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of six (6) months progressive experience in pipefitting work.
- Minimum of one (1) year training and experience in welding in the gas or related utility industry.
- Able to read and complete legible construction drawings.
- Familiar with hazards involved in welding and fusing in the presence of gas vapors.
- Completed course of instruction at Cascade Natural Gas Corporation welding and fusion school.
- Possess and maintain a valid first aid card.
- Able to secure and maintain commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Reside within twenty (20) mile radius from district office Bend, OR within 90 days.
