Job Summary
Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural forms, tanks, pressure vessels, and pipe using arc, heliarc, gas, MIG, and TIG processes. Bolts, clamps, and tack weld parts to secure positions; cut materials and repair assemblies by dismantling, straightening, and reassembling. Select equipment and plan layouts based on blueprints and drawings. Work at Phillips 66 in Old Ocean, TX, with 4-10 hours scheduled subject to change. No per diem; ideal for local candidates. Must pass weld test, safety council, drug test, and physical evaluation. Minimum four years experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill
- Must pass weld test and safety council
- Drug test and employment physical required
- Written pre-employment qualification test
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Hazard Communication orientation/test
- Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
- OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
- Job site orientation
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place
- Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
- Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level
- Must be able to maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.
- Must be able to reach in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials
- Must be able to coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
- Must be able to follow set procedures and standards
- Must be able to apply basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to plan work and select proper tools
- Must be able to compare and understand differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
- Must be able to picture and evaluate solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked
- Must be able to follow oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints
