Job Summary
Conduct inspections of commercial and residential construction projects to ensure code and zoning compliance. Review construction plans for regulatory adherence and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, violations, and plan reviews. Consult with stakeholders on code interpretations and investigate complaints by issuing violation notices or stop work orders when unsafe conditions exist. Collaborate with city agencies on design and licensing requirements while assisting in emergency investigations and evacuations. Follow financial policies and safety guidelines while participating in team meetings. Hourly wage ranges from $27.18 to $33.22 depending on certifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Combination Building Inspector I or II
- Two (2) years of experience in building inspections, code enforcement, or construction trade
- Combination Building Inspector III or IV
- Three (3) years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction science, industrial technology, architecture, engineering, or related field
- Previous construction inspection experience
