Job Summary
Conduct spot welding, torch welding, and thermal cutting on metal assemblies, pipes, and plates using electric, gas, or plasma equipment. Preheat work pieces, adjust flame temperatures, and correct defects by filling holes, thinning bulges, and curving metal. Measure components with straightedges and templates to ensure specifications, then signal crane operators for lifting large assemblies. Use hoists, cranes, and scaffolds to position and protect work pieces while climbing ladders and balancing in confined spaces. Join metal parts according to blueprints, work orders, and welding procedures, ensuring all pieces meet required strength and dimensions.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
- 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
- A Weld Test.
- A Valid Driver's License.
- A TWIC Card.
- Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
- Positions may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds, working at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces.
- Employees must possess sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities.
- Employees must be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
