Job Summary
Meet weekly with mentees for 30-45 minutes at Comal ISD campuses during the academic year to provide personal guidance, encouragement, and emotional support. Activities include coloring, reading, crafting, playing games, or conversing based on the student's age and needs. Complete the online application and background check, attend a mandatory training session on September 8, 14, or 18, and review the Mentor Handbook before each meeting. Maintain respectful confidentiality and honor the authority of the child's parent or caregiver.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ Years of Age
- A set schedule and access to transportation that allows them to make a firm commitment
- Great listeners
- Willingness to comply with all program policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain respectful confidentiality regarding their mentee
- Commitment to honor the authority and role of the child's parent or caregiver
- Completed the on-line Mentor Application and Background Check
- Attended a Mentor Training Session on ONE of the following dates: September 8, 14, or 18
- Read the Mentor Handbook prior to meeting the mentee
