Job Summary
Conduct policy research, track, and analyze legislation affecting the Department's programs and strategic priorities. Maintain and update the legislative tracking system to ensure accurate information on bill status and agency positions. Prepare legislative analyses, policy summaries, briefing materials, and correspondence to support executive leadership. Coordinate with subject matter experts to assess operational and policy impacts of proposed legislation. Collaborate with the Governor's Office, State Legislature, and external stakeholders on Department initiatives. Attend legislative and stakeholder meetings to document discussions and follow up on action items. Assist with outreach to elected officials and governmental partners to advance the legislative agenda. Contribute to special projects involving legislative strategy and intergovernmental affairs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree
- Established excellence in academics and/or professional achievement
- Proven leadership ability
- Potential for further growth
- Demonstrated commitment to public service
- Effective written communication skills
- Evidence of effective teamwork
- Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey
