Job Summary
Ensure safety, quality, production, and housekeeping standards are met by leading assigned production personnel to safely meet manufacturing goals. Conduct contactor safety inspections per policy, execute emergency management plans if needed, and perform root cause analysis to correct event origins rather than symptoms. Manage costs while producing granules on-time, develop employee skills for future opportunities, and champion continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles. Schedule manpower, prepare required reports, communicate maintenance needs, and write defined work orders and SOPs. Operations occur 24/7 with weekly shift rotations in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Graduate/GED Equivalent
- Minimum (1-2) years supervisory experience in a mining/manufacturing operation
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems in a mining/manufacturing operation
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit)
- Strong safety and housekeeping orientation and knowledge of MSHA rules and regulations
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead employees and a desire and willingness to drive change in improving operations
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or other Continuous Improvement and problem solving techniques
- Root Cause Analysis experience or other problem solving technique
- Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) Planning, Raw Materials management, and Constraint Management knowledge
- Ability to lead/influence/manage people
- Good decision making skills
