Job Summary
Color Matcher will mix pigments and dyes to reproduce colors for paints and coatings, inspect material color uniformity, and use color-measuring lamps to verify shade accuracy. Will work in a laboratory setting weighing, measuring, and adjusting colors to match existing formulas or palettes, liaising with suppliers and production managers, and ensuring color fastness and durability. Strong attention to detail, organized with ability to resolve customer issues calmly, and familiarity with CAD software and color-measuring equipment are required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred; at least two years of related experience is expected. 7:30am–4:30pm weekday schedule with weekends off; 401(k), medical/dental/vision, life and disability insurance, PTO, and growth opportunities offered for full-time employment at Painters Supply & Equipment (FAMIS).
Required Qualifications
- Experience: At least two years of experience in a color-related role or color matching environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to use color-measuring equipment and laboratory tools
- Prolonged periods standing and computer work
- Ability to lift up-to 15 pounds
