Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition with meticulous assessment and high-quality work. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles; realigns chassis; replaces damaged sections and glass; welds and attaches parts; prepares and repaints with factory- or agreed-upon finishes. Reads work orders, plans repairs, uses tools (cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, pliers), and aims to complete work within labor time guidelines. Collaborates with teammates to meet KPIs and delivers a strong customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
