Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of customer vehicles to restore pre-accident condition. Performs dent repair, chassis realignment, replacement of damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts, glass and interior repairs, welding, and painting. Uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers; aims to complete work orders within labor-time guidelines while meeting KPIs and delivering a high-quality customer experience. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus technical school or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair, and ability to read job orders, work collaboratively with other shop staff, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
