Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for meticulous assessment and repair of vehicles to pre-accident condition, disassembly/repair/reassembly, realigning chassis, replacing parts and glass, welding and repainting as needed, and ensuring quality within labor-time guidelines. Must be able to read job orders, work with others in a shop, apply techniques for body repairs, operate tools (cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, pliers), and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 30 pounds, bending/kneeling). Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of technical school or a 3-year apprenticeship; ASE/I-CAR familiarity and ability to work in a noisy environment are beneficial. Compensation: $20-$29 per hour, with potential for bonuses; location Baton Rouge, LA.
