Job Summary
Auto Body Technician responsible for the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer’s vehicle to restore it back to pre-accident condition. The role disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles while aligning with the WOW plan, prepares cost estimates, uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers, repairs dents, realigns chassis, replaces parts and glass, welds and repaints, and ensures work orders are completed within labor guidelines while maintaining customer excellence. Strong collaboration with team members and adherence to safety and quality standards are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
