Job Summary
The Collision Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience through detailed assessment and quality repair of vehicles to restore them to their pre-accident condition. Key responsibilities include planning repair work, preparing cost estimates, and utilizing various tools for repairs. Technicians will hammer out dents, realign car chassis, and ensure that repairs meet safety standards. This role requires a thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and tools. Successful candidates should possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively, with an expectation to complete work within labor time guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
