Job Summary
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences through quality vehicle repairs, including disassembly, repair, and reassembly. Key responsibilities include planning repair work, preparing cost estimates, using various tools for repairs, realigning car chassis, replacing damaged sections and glass, and repainting vehicles. Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and have good collaborative skills. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a technical school program or an apprenticeship.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
