Job Summary
Assess and repair customer vehicles by disassembling, reassembling, and restoring them to pre-accident condition. Execute the WOW Operating Way plan by planning repairs, preparing cost estimates, and using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks to fix dents, structural damage, and replaced parts. Weld, attach, and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint while inspecting work to ensure correct execution within labor time guidelines. Perform related duties including glass replacement and interior repairs, maintaining safety standards in a noisy environment with odors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
