Job Summary
Auto Body Technician at Gerber Collision & Glass responsible for assessing and repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition, disassembling/reassembling components, realigning chassis/frames, replacing damaged sections and parts, welding and attaching components, and repainting. Must work with team to meet KPIs, read job orders, use common auto body tools (cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, hammers, pliers), and ensure quality workmanship. Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds, work in a noisy environment with odors, and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, squatting). Education/experience emphasizes high school diploma plus technical training or apprenticeship; strong understanding of repair methods, safety, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Compensation ranges from $23-$32 per hour with flat-rate structure, plus benefits and potential bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
