College of Engineering Computing Manager

Job Summary
Lead the operation and administration of computing systems, infrastructure, and services for the College of Engineering at BYU. Provide leadership for ENG Computing staff, manage budgets and priorities, and align services with institutional technology initiatives. Oversee daily computing operations, lifecycle management of equipment, and policies for labs and shared resources. Drive technology advancement to enhance instructional, research, and administrative capabilities; expand support for research computing, particularly for faculty and graduate students. Collaborate with OIT and campus units, coordinate with department IT support representatives, and represent the college in vendor/partner relationships. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in computer systems administration and IT, with knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS systems, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience in computer systems administration and information technology.
- Knowledge of computer systems administration and IT-related fields.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills for interactions with staff, faculty, student employees, OIT personnel, and outside entities.
- Experience with administration and networking of Windows, Linux, and macOS systems.
Additional Requirements
- Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
