Job Summary
Support student success through Title IV funding and financial services. The Financial Services Advisor I assists new and continuing students between enrollment and graduation to secure Title IV funding, handling outreach, advisement, document collection, file review, and awarding; ensures compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and institutional policies; coordinates payment plans; communicates daily with students via phone and email; prepares operational tracking reports; assists with file reviews, audits, and regulatory requirements; completes all ISIR reviews including conflicting information and verification; follows Title IV policies; awards Title IV funds for eligible students; collects documentation; manages exit counseling for Title IV loan recipients; updates systems with student information; coordinates cancellations and start date changes; produces and sends offer letters; remote work experience noted; benefits and ESOP described. The role requires High School Diploma with preferred Associate’s degree or higher, 2+ years experience in Title IV financial advising, knowledge of financial aid programs and policies, ability to work under pressure, and strong communication and record-keeping skills. The position emphasizes customer service, remote work experience, confidentiality, and collaboration with a wide range of individuals. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, required
- Associate's degree or higher preferred
- Two years or more experience as a college Title IV financial advisor
- Experience with financial aid programs and federal, state and institutional regulations and policies
- Experience in student advising methods and financial aid instructions
- Knowledge of financial aid need analysis and packaging
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions
- Ability to produce large volumes of accurate work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to provide guidance and instructions to a wide variety of students
- Ability to work with initiative and innovation; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Working knowledge of automated student funding systems
- Ability to keep accurate records and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with a wide range of individuals in a variety of work settings
- Experience working in a remote setting
- Experience providing customer or client service over the phone
