Job Summary
College Counselor at Léman Manhattan: serve as the primary college counselor for an assigned caseload, guiding students and families through the college planning and application process; advise on course selection, college research, standardized testing, financial aid, scholarships, essays, interviews, and matriculation; write letters of recommendation; collaborate with families and colleagues; develop and facilitate college counseling programming, grade-level workshops, and college fairs; maintain accurate counseling records and utilize platforms like MaiaLearning, Slate, and Common App; support office initiatives and engage with college admission representatives; bring strong organizational, communication, and data-analysis skills; knowledge of IB philosophy and experience with U.S. and international university admissions are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Three or more years of experience in college counseling
- Strong knowledge of the college admissions landscape
- Experience with college counseling platforms (MaiaLearning, Naviance, SCOIR, Cialfo, PowerSchool, Salesforce)
- Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in college counseling
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Higher Education, or related field
- Experience with college counseling platforms (MaiaLearning, Naviance, SCOIR, Cialfo, PowerSchool, Salesforce)
- Knowledge of IB philosophy and experience supporting US and/or international university admissions
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize in a collaborative environment
- Experience designing and facilitating workshops, presentations, or family engagement initiatives

- Active relationships with college admission representatives preferred
