College/Career Readiness Counselor
Job Summary
A 12-month, full-time College and Career Readiness Counselor at GEO Next Generation Academy – Indianapolis. Responsible for assisting high school students with academic, career and social/emotional development; implementing College and Career Readiness programming; coordinating college and career activities (including scheduling college visits, identifying internships, and guiding students through college applications, financial aid, and scholarships); administering readiness assessments; maintaining student records and data reporting; collaborating with staff and community resources; providing crisis intervention as needed; and serving as the primary liaison with partner higher education institutions. Requires valid Indiana teaching/counseling license, a Bachelor's degree in School Counseling or Social Work, knowledge of Indiana graduation requirements and college/career readiness programs, and experience with high school students. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in School Counseling or Social Work.

- Bachelor’s degree in School Counseling/ Social Work
- Knowledge of Indiana Graduation Requirements and College and Career Readiness Programs
- Experience in working with high school students and in reviewing student transcripts, scheduling, & graduation requirements
- Demonstrated success in Guidance Counseling/ Social Work as demonstrated by annual performance evaluations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office operations
