Job Summary
Grant-funded 7th/8th grade College & Career Empowerment Champion Teachers (2 per campus) to develop and implement a yearlong College & Career Empowerment program aligned to California standards, collaborating with School leadership, counselors, and Home Office partners. Build a scope and sequence for pre-built career exploration activities using Paxton/Patterson Career Discovery Lab and Xello, align lessons to local high school pathways and California’s Career Ready standards, and champion connections to existing college and career empowerment initiatives. Responsibilities include curriculum development and shared implementation across two sites, student transition planning, cross-functional collaboration with CSUB College Corps Fellows, and integration with Xello and other reflection tools. Time commitment totals ~75 hours across Summer/Fall Planning, Implementation Support, Evaluation, and Cross-Functional opportunities. Engage in quarterly progress meetings to review implementation and recommend curriculum improvements and participate in professional development related to CTE/pathway planning.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrate passion for career and college exposure
- Ability to collaborate with Home Office and School Leadership, other CCE Champion Teachers, site counselors, College & Career Success Coaches, and CSUB College Corps Fellows
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit to grow a program through ambiguity
- Previous experience leading or developing college and career related activities for middle school students
- Be a current Grow Public Schools 7th or 8th grade teacher
